We work from the Early Years Foundation Stage and base our curriculum on the four principles

  • A unique child

  • Positive relationships

  • Enabling environment

  • Learning and development

Our curriculum is focused around the child and enabling the child to develop through:

  • Playing and exploring

  • Active learning

  • Creating and thinking critically

Our aim for each child is that they are ready for their next stage of learning when they leave us.

01

Intent:

Our focus is based around key books, rhymes and songs for each half term.  We put our main focus on the prime area of learning:

  • Personal, Social and Emotional Development;

  • Communication and Language;

  • Physical Development;

To ensure that each child grows in confidence and independence.

03

Impact:

The child’s keyperson will complete a two-year check, which is shared with the parents and next steps are discussed.  The keyperson will review their keychildren’s progress termly and amend next steps as appropriate.

02

Implementation:

Upon a child starting with us at Playstation, their parent completes an All About Me booklet, which is discussed with the child’s keyperson at the child’s induction session.  A Welcome is completed on entry to ensue the keyperson knows the child’s starting point.  During sessions the keyperson will extend the child’s play and learning through interactions and stimulating conversations.
